My understanding is Kronos wanted much more than just the technology they got.
According the the company they were interested in all of the APG technologies and this was stage 1 or part 1.
It appears the whole thing went pear shaped when both companies could not agree on stage 2 and that is probably because the terms to fund the next part of the plant could not be agreed upon or be acceptable toAPG.
I guess that is why APG funded it themself via the sale of the wim150.
Kronos got a license to use the ears (i thought it was only for Germany but I may be wrong)and it cost them $8m.
This state of the art plant will have cost well or $15m and without Kronos we would never have been able to it.
In this day of corporate high flyers perception and integerity is everything and I am sure that part of the temination negotioations was to allow Kronos to save face.
I am99% confident APG paid Kronos zip for temination but I wonder if APG got anything.
I sure that if they did it would have been a relatively small amount and we will never know.
