Pro Kuusamo has provided statement of the chairman of the city government and former
chair of the city council Mika Määttä.

He said that the position of the city will keep its position against mining in the core region of the travel industry.
He said that there is no mining in the sight and the possible ores may rest in peace in the region.

This would mean that mean definitive no to Juomasuo mine and also to Ollinsuo and some other most advanced
exploration projects of Latitude. Latitude has not explained the statements of the city which approval would be needed
by land plan for mining right and mining uranium, which is in the ore.

The legal position of the city is explained by professor Pölönen on the right column of the same page
with the message that the city can stop the mining project.
