    Not sure if many people know how Kyoto works (I didn't) so AFR article is useful. Apparently there is a four year period 2008-2012 for which we have an emissions target. If we fail to meet this we can be penalised financially and by having future allowances cut. Currently we are not on track.

    Our own emissions can be offset by making investments in clean energy projects in developing countries. URO has a couple of potentially very big projects which fit this bill.
