No one celebrated this Australian when he won the Japan Open a week or two ago. Was it because no one cares about the Japan Open? That doesn't seem right, as now we want to string him up for not doing exactly what we want at the next similar tournament. What is it exactly that people want from this kid? Because it is getting pretty obvious that we all actually just enjoy hating him.

He doesn't owe Australians anything, and he is right to think we are terrible supporters. He clearly isn't motivated by winning, and he clearly has absolutely no reason to perform well to represent a nation that does nothing but complain about him. So what does that leave? The money - it's just an income to him, and who of us here give 100% every single day in our jobs? We should not be punishing him when he does something wrong if we aren't prepared to even be slightly pleased when he does something right. If Casey Dellacqua won the Japan Open it would be front page news.

Australian supporters, including the media, are an absolute disgrace.
