The conventional hard rock lithium mineral (Spodumene) such as that planned to be produced by PLS at Pilgangoora has a well established process route and sales market (as a concentrated mineral). Where PLP and L-Max fit in is the fact that these deposits need to reject Mica during the conventional processing step and this mica can be treated using L-Max to produce battery grade lithium carbonate. L-max and conventional spodumene processing are synergistic, not necessarily stand alone processes.
