I just love the way people think they know the law. I remember when I first got my licence someone told me it was illegal to drive without shoes on.
It is not illegal to swerve for an animal. Show me under the road traffic act or code it says so.
Now if you swerve and have a crash and hurt someone, then that is different. You will be charged for an offence.
However if you are an experienced driver and you are capable of making a split second decision to either swerve or not based on your surrounding, then choose the best course of action. (unfortunately WA drivers are idiots and could drive to save themselves).
Remember to always brake in a straight line (no law against that as far as I am aware).
