Dave
I never inferred that "voters are idiots", as you put it.
Voters use the same psychology during elections, as we investors/traders use in the share market.
We are all human. Yes, we do our own research (or we should) and we do the charts. We think we make informed decisions in the markets, and sometimes we do.
But sometimes, all of the reasoning and trading knowledge goes out the door and we make a decision, based upon the "herd mentality". It is a simple human frailty Dave. We have all done it. Those that know of this common frailty, have been known to capitalise upon it. Fair enough.
And this is what happens with the punters during election campaigns. They have done their homework, they know the facts. the know the history of Labor governments. They know that they shouldn't vote Labor......but they do!!!
Why? Because it feels safer to do that because the media and the "public mood", says they should. Go along with "the herd". Defies all known logic.
But soon there after, like now in Queensland, the punters realise their mistakes. Labor knows this will happen, but they still have another two years to deceive the voters once again.
It's called, "the cycle of spin".
Ah, it's just my opinion anyway.
cheers.
