I don’t think you can claim they abandoned young home buyers. They have said they have come up with different approach to tackling housing affordability because the scare campaign continues to be successful and voters are scared of that policy. Looks to me like labor is adapting as oppose to abandoning.
You can’t tackle the issues you want to being in opposition.
