    seer,

    You said:

"it is a strange feeling just a feeling of foreboding that i have never before experienced in Australia ....it is a feeling we have lost something good in our way of life forever and it will never return."

That is hardly surprising. Her majesty's Opposition in the parliament these days opposes almost anything and everything government of the day's legislation, it is opposing for the sake of opposing.

Twice Her Majesty's Opposition lost an election, in 2007, and again in 2010, but refused to accept defeat, decrying they were robbed of "victory", and its followers carry on the fight here on hotcopper, calling the then prime minister Mr. Kevin Rudd and his wife by all sorts of derogatory terms (those posts are still here if you care to scroll back, say, 3 years ago), and now the same derogatory remarks are being directed at the present prime minister Ms Julia Gillard (just scroll through posts in the past few weeks and it is clear for all to see).

It is of great concern to me that some sections of our community are losing respects for the basic tenets of our freedom, viz. the practice of parliamentary democracy we inherited from the United kingdom.

What really has surprised me is it has taken you so long to be concerned.

We are certainly losing something good in our way of life. We will all be very much worse off for that.
