Why should he do anything to keep the left happy?
They would not be happy if he did exactly what they wanted. The ALP have opposed budget measures which they themselves proposed.
Not repealing 18c was a massive sop to the left but he gets no credit for that.
Abbott needs only to speak to the middle Australians who voted for the Libs in massive numbers last time.
The left should be abandoned to the greens.
