Union membership is compulsory on some employment sites. This compulsion is illegal but enforced by violence and intimidation. These sites are known as Closed Shops.
An individual employed in a Closed Shop does not have the option to not contribute to the Labor Party.
A major proportion of Labor party funding is the product of this extortion.
