Why would it be a strange position?

We’re talking political parties, not backing your favourite footy team through thick and thin.

Political parties are there to serve the country and its citizens. We shouldn’t have undying allegiance to any of them.

We should applaud good policy, no matter who comes up with it, and condemn bad policy, no matter who comes up with it.

I usually vote Liberal, but give this Labor government credit for making the right decision here.
