current generating plants into the ground (make as much money as you can
while creating a shortage of supply thereby driving up the price)

IMO unless State overnments tke back ownership of electricity generation
& preferably by building more solar & wind, then we'll likely have a Calefornian
"Enron Moment" whwn the grid will crash.

PS: We didn't have a power supply'pricing crisis when the generators were State Owned
just as we didn't have a housing affordability crisis when social housing was publicly
owned ..eg: 1950s when we had massive immigration & high demand from returned soildiers from
WW2.

PS: as a follow on fron the above post, the solution to funding public
infrastructure such as electricity generation & social housing is
to appropriately tax the Multinationals who, under current tax legislation
are bludging on honest Aussie taxpayers
