The ABC has grown into a cash consuming monster that is left and unionised to the point it's become a sick puppy. I bet you could chop 20% of the budget and get better value. They have spent decades on the tax payer breast and the upcoming budget issues will only make them more of a target. It was like Telstra before it was sold off. A Hugh bloated machine that ended up in much better shape in the long run when management fixed it and cut the fat so it could perform properly. It's now churning out cash, paying dividends, employing people on good salaries and growing. The only time it got into trouble recently was because labor wanted the NBN and used the future fund to smash the share price so they force management to heel to their terms. Rudd went, Telstra stayed, NBN a cost disaster. Funny that. That same old pattern again.
