Political parties are notoriously factional. That undermines the abilities of a natural leader by quite a bit.
Hoping that you are going to get a natural leader to the top of a political party is a bit naive I reckon.
What we need is a communicator. Someone that can get the message across. Someone that will explain things and give people confidence. Someone that will admit mistakes and deal with them. Someone people will listen to.
Instead , we have professional wafflers. They start talking and people switch off.
