Gas producers say Labor’s backdown on expediting approvals for offshore projects has undermined its week-old pro-gas strategy, and will hurt investor confidence and curb new supply.Labor sacrificed the approvals fix in a deal with the Greens late on Thursday that secured the passage of laws, including measures to bring forward $2.4 billion in gas taxes, tougher car emissions rules and PwC reforms.
