TLS has been making this coverage claim for many years at 99 7% of country by area.
With the re allocation of the 3g spectrum for 5g and 6g, the 4g coverage has been found out and TLS under my understanding changed its coverage calc to 99.7% of people.
eg. 5g fails to 4g, 4g fails to 3g, with 3g out of service coverage by geo drop significantly and i would think call drop outs increased as well.
TPG has jumped on this change and referred to ACMA.
I further believe that OPTUS and VODA were fined back around 2014 with the new at the time, 4g roll out using geo coverage. Both paid the fines and changed wording to percent of people way back in 2014.
I am sure there are people in the RF and mobile spectrum space that could clarify the engineering issue here.
