No DEI criteria should be used. One criterion of diversity, equality and inclusion is in fact female gender but there are others.
By the way, Chenna Seneviratne identifies as a male and his pronouns are he/him/ his so your gender theory of DEI only applying to females is incorrect as one of the DEI appointees that I have cited clearly identifies as male.
White European non Asian females use DEI to support their selection.
My opinion is that merit alone should be the basis for someone’s selection not their gender, race, ethnicity, sexual preference, pronouns or being “differently abled in body”.
