Being a customer for our exports does not excuse attempts to undermine our democratic institutions and elections, nor does it excuse an arbitrary trade war against us, nor does it excuse rampant cyber attacks against our government, institutions, businesses and universities. Only a complete muppet would suggest otherwise.
Nor is "but America!" an excuse for China's behaviour. The government in Beijing is hostile towards Australia. Time to grow up.
