re: wind farms 'must take root in uk' Not enough attention is being paid to where the electricity goes to. Most goes into industry which need large amounts and they have probably economised already. It is in domestic consumption that alternative generation sources can be used effectively. Because domestic consumption is low per household it can be matched to local alternative generation. Industry will have to concentrate around large electricity producing plants...ie aluminium smelting in Victoria. As the costs rise, the solutions will become more urgent. China is suffering the polution with the benefits of high production of goods for the west. The solutions are not as easy as people imagine because we are talking about large relocations of people and factories.
