re: good oil on nuclear No wonder politicians are so intransigent toward re-evaluating a position regardless of how long ago it was stated and what has changed in the meantime . . . . . we just won't let them.
We want to see it as a sign of weakness, a tool to bash them over the head with, whereas the reality is that nothing is static and only a fool never changes his mind.
I say more power to those that have the guts (in our warped political culture) to stand up and say that things have changed or that their previously held beliefs were formed from insufficient/inacurate data etc.
For Pete's (not Costello) sake we all change our minds (particularly about our investments) at a staggering rate . . . . as further data presents itself
