    Like I said .. its nothing to do with the govt whether they choose to increase rent and contribute to CPI

    please show us the legislation whereby the govt forces individuals to increase rents

    There is no law, no decree, no legislation, no edict, no order, no instrument that states
    'Landlords must increase rent'

    we live in a free country thankfully

    the responsibility for the rent component of CPI is solely apportionable to Australian Landlords it is measured along with material cost of materials in building as the other component in the category known as 'housing' in the CPI basket

    the excuses landlords use for increasing rent are not measured as part of the CPI

    landlords increase rent = increasing the 'rent' component of the 'housing' in the CPI

    no one gives a toss why they do it all that matters is that the govt is responsible for voluntary decisions made in self interest
