The only reason Labor received 50.6% is that the Greens sided with them, so for many people who just follow their nose, they went with the status quo. Imagine if Greens didn't preference their votes to Labor in most seats. It would have been a whitewash and we'd be concentrating on the fact that Labor have had their lowest primary vote in a very very long time. Labor can thank their lucky stars for the Green alliance. If there was no 2PP, Coalition would also have won in a landslide.
Other than that percentages mean nothing. The number of seats is all that counts. 73/72 is still the most likely result. All current talks between leaders and independents means jack until there is surety on who has what seats.
