Interesting point - both major parties supported a law that forces preference deals on all parties and they have to be published a week and a half before the election.
Also of interest: any senator elected by territorians takes their seat immediately so if the Greens pick up one in either the ACT or the NT (very likely on current numbers) they will have the balance of power from day 1
