While the minority government can fall to either side lets not mislead and try to pretend that Labor did not get the majority share of votes after preferences. Labor got a lot more primary votes than the Liberals also and its only when you add the LNP primaries to the coalition vote that they have a bit of a margin on Labor primaries. However between 80and 90 percent of the green vote is being directed to Labor after preferences and Labor has a clear majority of votes when these are distributed. This tells us more people prefer Labor to the coalition in overall terms. The greens voters prefer Labor to the Coalition by a gigantic margin.

If The coalition forms a minority government it will do so without holding a majority of the overall vote. The primary vote is irrelevant. If the primary vote was the issue Labor Governments would never win office and we would always have minority governments.

Labor and greens voters prefer Labor by a majority over the coalition.
