Quite right. And our Government is NOT determined by total number of votes or first past the post vote counting.
The Coalition received 400k more votes than Labor but they will not form Government on this basis. Nor should Labor form Government by adding its' votes to Green votes.
Our Governments are formed by tallying the total number of sitting members and determining who has the working majority to govern.
The three independants should align their allegences based on the will of THEIR constituants, not on the preferences of people in other seats like Melbourne.
