The only reason your Gough joined Labor was because he couldn't get a guernsey with the Libs. Otherwise, your Gough would have been a Lib.

He was an opportunist - using the lack of talent in the Labor Party to get where he got. He wasn't interested really in what side of politics he was on so long as he got to the top. That is why he choose Labor because he knew he could seize upon that opportunity and it was for no other reason.
