    ah good one graham mac

watso voted for gough, and even when the multitudes voted for fraser, watso still voted for gough.

watso benefitted from free university education etc

if i recall correctly, the first oil shock was in 1973, when oil prices quadrupled - which was inflationary, and at the same time curtailed economic activity - and whitlam was caught in the middle of it - and then fraser took advantage of the situation and withheld supply.

yes - whitlam was a giant, compared to the likes of billy mcmahon, and the other lib pretenders.

sure was greeted as a hero, when he gave a speech at university

now howard is trying to blame high oil prices - but the last time i looked the bowser price could well have been lower today,. than what it was a year ago.

in comparitive terms, the price of petrol, in terms of household income is a lot less, than back in 1975 - so the increase in the oil price has less effect - and yet howard is trying to blame higher oil prices for higher inflation -watso imagines that howard would fall apart at the knees, if he were a treasurer back in the time of whitlam . lucky for howard that he was not - because when he had his chance, he had no idea
