You are spot on. There is an interest in the Left creating a victim industry and general dependence. It creates a continuing dependence and a sense of obligation owed to the masters, the protectors.
For example, the union masters are needed to shield the worker from the evil bosses. We all know bosses love to abuse and underpay staff- it's how you get the best results!!! The union creates a sense of need for its existence and the members feel obliged to go along with that myth despite the abuses the workers have suffered at being ripped off.
The fear of breaking free from the rogue Union bosses is less than the fear of the evil oppressor bosses.
Look at climate change, the black armband brigade, even individualism. Look out folks- you need your Leftist (ie collectivist) protectors...
