The stupid aspect of the carbon tax is that most businesses that can, - have changed their plans to minimise its cost. The eventual cost worn by the members of the community is vastly more than the tax itself, in lost opportunity, abandoned plans etc..

And what for? Absolutely zilch. It has to be right up there with the most insane negative taxes ever thought up.

My greatest regret is that it is not Julia who is now copping all the flack evident here. I almost feel sorry that Rudd is basically carrying the can for her insanity, while she lives it up in a green-friendly mansion on the soon-to-be-flooded coast.
