Calwell was foolishly referring to Asians. Little did he know that Australia would be dependent on China and the Asian region for prosperity now and into the future and that Asian Australians have contributed significantly to enterprise in this country.
Fortunately Australia wised up and under the Liberals in 1977,1978 waves of refugees came to Australia by boat and were accepted into the Australian community much to the chagrin of racist elements.
