Let's not get too carried away - and gloat too much over polls, which can be very fickle and fast moving. It's encouraging, though, let's say that.

There's the Windsor, Oakeshott, Katter trio, and Wilkie, Fielding, and Xenophon, - Bandt and Bob Brown - elements.
with the Greens getting full power in July. A bit of a Mt. Everest of a barrier to any sudden changes in Parliament.

Windsor is making anti-levy noises, but of course this is play acting and he'll make it look as if he was "persuaded!" We all know who pulls his strings.

Senator Fielding just caved in to Gillard on the weekend and traded his vote for the flood levy scheme in return for a $500 million flood relief payment for Victorian flood affected areas. This amount to be paid immediately.
(How "immediate", then, is Queensland flood relief by the way??)

(As Victoria is Gillard's home state, one would have thought she would have had these flood sufferers in mind regardless - but no, Fielding gave up his vote in order to get some action!) Quite shocking he had to resort to that! Typical of how she operates; Fielding was voted out at the last election, so he's going. But she's got her sixpenneth out of him before he leaves.

Still, it is heartening that there is this poll movement -
took people a long time to wake up to Rudd - perhaps it's the same thing with Gillard.
