It's really pathetic that the rusted on "true believer" Laborites can never bring themselves to give any credit to Howard and Costello for paying off Keating's massive debt AND lowering taxes AND creating a $50b financial war chest AND creating the Australian Government Future Fund which now is worth $146b.

That ludicrous article by Alan Austin simply beggars belief!

How often have we heard the Laborites take FULL credit for getting us through the GFC, with not one hint of appreciation to Howard & Costello.

With their compulsive "borrow and spend" mentality, there is no doubt that if Labor had remained in power up to the GFC, our economy would now be an absolute disaster and we would be down there with Greece and the others.
