Are you suggesting a future ALP government might try to pull strings to somehow save the skins of a big party donor? I hope not. I also don't think they would (it's borderline corruption!)

If they went down that path though they would need need to be extremely careful. (e.g. perhaps they could flag the possibility of a royal commission of corruption in the banking sector, while also quietly letting it be known they would drop this policy if syndicate members renegotiated the loan on more favorable terms?)
