and Australia is backward in many ways too when compared to other countries in the world...our roads are crap, our railways are 19th century, our internet is rubbish, shopping and retail is dead, prices are ridiculously high, service is non-existent and it takes forever to get anything done - and our environment is suffering.
the world is passing us by and we are being raped by corporate greed and corruption.
we had so much potential 30-40 years ago but short term ideology and lack of real vision has destroyed us. Future generations will suffer greatly.
