I've seen some amazing statements here, but that one takes the cake.
The governemnt cannot actually fund anything on its own. It can only borrow and collect tax revenues to fund expenses. The operative word being 'fund'. Printing money, - which is what you are alluding to I assume, - is not funding anything. If for example the amount of money printed was doubled, the prices of everything would also double. Its a nonsense.
