Ziggy loves nuclear and he sees geothermal as a threat as it can do the base-load thing.

He is one voice but I think some in government will see that pushing the nuclear too hard could cost them the election. It is one thing to convince voters that nuclear power is safe enough and useful enough to sell uranium to far-off countries, quite another to force them to live next door to reactors without having given the alternatives a fair go.

Malcolm Turnbull is also good friends with Tim Flannery so expect some words in his ear on this.
