The ALP strategy on debt is pretty clear. They plan to run debt up to well over 100+% GDP. At each election they will then attack the LNP for trying to pay off debt or at least trying to balance the budget.

The growing army of unsophisticated voting automatons who will always vote for freebies are putty in the hands of the big spenders.

Big spending is firmly rooted in the brain of the Laborite. Expect a decade of Shorten's destructive policies to flower.

We've actually had the opposite in WA. I've never voted anyone but Liberal (soon to change I think) and our last Liberal govt ran up massive debts and not the current Labor govt has tightened the belt, frozen public wages and is having to make the painful decisions.... and the public respects them for it.
