I don't really get the title of the thread ? If anything it should be " political pigs " shouldn't it ?

All sides do these things , don't they ? And , having leaders at regional election is also expected . They could have been just as easily criticised if they didn't turn up .

I get that governing costs money . And a democratic governing system costs a lot of money .

Anyone know what politics costs the country per year ? Has there ever been a study done on how much the politics system actually costs ?

I reckon there might be some opportunity for savings if an independant source ran the ruler over the system .
