"Interesting that retail sales are still climbing. Did the stimulus package really have an impact?"
All the liberals/nats want is for the economy to fail just so they can re-elected. Questioning the impact of the stimulus on retail sales when it has been universally accepted that the stimulus helped maintain sales during the worst of the GFC is an indicator of the conservatives struggling to come up with something to pull them out of the quicksand of electoral oblivion. The stimulus kept us out of recession, built up consumer confidence and therefore retail spending is going along nicely. Simple really!
