This might be a little off subject. People still do cashiers these days. I helped a mate out in his work shop doing some mechanical work after hours. He asked me if I wanted to be paid in cash or Woolworths vouchers? I said, " I have never heard of that one before". He said, " everyone does it". Being retired I thought it over and said, "give me a voucher". He gave me two 500$ Woolworths vouchers. How that looks in his books I don't know. I got 1000 dollars tax free worth of groceries, petrol, beer, smokes (if I did smoke) and anything else you can buy on a woollies voucher. Which leaves me more cash in my hand. I wont be declaring it in my tax that's for sure.
Perhaps some smart farmers could work out a simular deal with the backpackers.
