@JoeGambler; despite the extra funding the Andrews Government has ploughed into Victoria's Health system serious issues remain.
Having twice experienced firsthand Victoria's emergency health systems' response it's apparent:
1. Internal hospital processes are archaic, still largely paper-based and require massive amounts of time consuming duplication.
2. Much of the system's computer hardware & software is absolutely dreadful - they'd do well to just jettison it and opt for a new technology provider - Basis Technology's SAP software would revolutionise how our hospitals work.
3. Some of the monitoring equipment is also ancient and some even unreliable.
4. Points 1-3 above are causing health professionals including paramedics and doctors to be held up - recently my ambos waited for more than three hours by my trolley in the ED because of unbelievably slow computer systems, the unavailability of ED space and people bogged down by paperwork.
These are both systemic resourcing and managerial incompetence failures and this time round Covid19 was NOT a contributor!
