Hopefully some TV interviewer will challenge Shorten to reveal the details of his claim without breaching privacy - just give the broad figures and circumstances with no names attached.

In my opinion Shorten is kite flying trying to make out he has to take away franking credits from everyone just to get at those one or two claiming millions. Obviously he could achieve the same by imposing a limit on the amount of franking credits claimable each tax year. It is just as obvious that Shorten's policy has nothing to do with excessive refunds, but everything to do with raising funds for his anticipated government.
