    $615 per week for a couple (full Aged Pension) is doable but not one which will mean there's much spare cash to save anything.
    But then neither should it be. Taxpayers would object. What lots of people are unaware of is the indexing of pensions. It is no longer based on CPI but on Average Weekly Earnings (which, in past years at least, means considerably more for pensioners as a consequence of this alteration). Defined Benefit pensions are indexed far less lucratively as they use the CPI index.

    Is someone here suggesting that anything over $615 per week for a couple is the definition of wealthy? Surely not. Personally, I would suspect that a couple would need to earn $5,000 clear (net of tax) per week to be anywhere near that category.
