Pollies are Clueless, I agree there shouldnt be a Cap Price as the max price international Investors can pay to buy farmland.

The Cap should be unlimited, so if a japan investor wants to buy a farm for 10000000000 Billion , then they can.

The Cap should be on the SIZE of the land area. Not the Price.

If an investor wants to pay 500 Billion for 3 acres, then they should be free to do so.

But if an investor is under the current cap, and about to buy 9/10ths of Australia for 14 million bucks, then they shouldnt be allowed to buy a Parcel of land size above a realistic Cap in size, say 100 Acres.

So if they want to pay 765 Billion for 99 Acres, then go for it, it would be under the size cap and the price can be unlimited.

I cant see why they dont have a Cap on the size and also a minimum price level per acre, like 50k per acre of desert etc.
