Easy Grant64t the Morrison government has run up all time record debt and deficits which may never be repaid. The Morrison government no longer has any plan to return to surplus and is pushing ahead with big spending and tax cuts. So clearly they either no longer believe debt and deficits matter or are simply being reckless. Either way the electorate in general don't care about federal debt anymore and both Liberal and Labor know it. So as the Liberals are leading the way to record high spending and tax cuts Labor may as well join the party. Labor know the Coalition can not question them on economic credentials any more without making hypocrites of themselves. So Labor may as well cut taxes and increase spending since that is what gets you elected these days.
