labor waste not popular with the punters

Well, it had to happen sooner or later. It appears that the crows are coming home to roost and the gloss is fast coming off the media savvy Labor government.
As reported in todays Herald Sun, based on a survey conducted by The Australian.

"THE majority of voters are against another stimulus cash handout, saying money should be spent on infrastructure, a poll has found.
Forty-seven per cent of voters interviewed on the weekend for a Newspoll said Prime Minister Kevin Rudd should reduce the size of the 2009 Budget deficit by scrapping tax cuts to take effect on July 1.

And 78 per cent said any new stimulus package should avoid Mr Rudd's strategy of one-off payments to individuals and instead be spent on infrastructure such as new roads or schools.

There has also been a five percentage point slide in Labor support as voters begin to question the PM's handling of the global recession." (end quote)

I particularly like the "78 per cent" of punters who have finally worked out that cash handouts are a huge waste of taxpayers funds.

There is also a 5% slide in Labor support. and all of this before next weeks "horror" budget, as described by Mr Swan.

Forget about any early elections based upon ETS or any other bogus excuse. The GFC has exposed how ill prepared Labor is in dealing with economic matters. They only know how to create debt, not how to "manage" an economy.

    cheers.
