There is no equity in these handouts whatsoever. I have no problem with pensioners and care givers getting more, they are much neglected.
As for the rest of these handouts, take the blinkers off. Howard created this unhealthy reliance on middle class welfare and Rudd perpetuates it. And those on the outer who don't fit the cynical political handout model just watch and pay for it through taxes.
You think an economy on the precipice will be saved by this largesse? the smart will pocket the money and reduce debt.
The money would be better spent in promoting innovation and R&D or at least equitable across the board tax cuts.
Too much to expect a government that thinks long term, Labor or Liberal, non?
