Compulsory voting makes me laugh. We aren't even free enough to choose not to participate in a vote.
But as you suggested Martyn, it is the only thing keeping Labor in it.
Half the Labor/Greens voters can't get out of bed to support themselves, so they are unlikely to get out of bed for a vote that doesn't net them extra cash or some food stamp equivalents.
