The author can't see the wood for the trees. Yes it may be a blatant Liberal tactic, but not simply for the reason she imagines. Morrison knows a huge amount of voters relate to Deves view as it pertains more broadly to gender politics. Especially to do with kids being encouraged to consider ridiculous notions of toxic masculinity, sex changing and the like. It can't be under estimated how hated gender politics is in the real world.
